It could become a slippery slope when they decide which companies can advertise on license plates and which can not. While most citizens may agree that the Pussycat Lounge should not be accepted on license plates, some other companies might get rejected that are not so clear cut.

I don't particularly like the idea but then you can get just about anything in Texas if you're willing to pay extra.

welcome to corporate america. do you get fined if you remove the company logo from your plate? probably as that would be altering the license plate.

The Tallahassee Democrat article, Florida license plates may become profitable ad space, states that it could be $30-35 dollars a tag (rates went up about 35% last September). That seems way high for advertising. Maybe that's the number he saw at the PowerPoint presentation but I don't expect the real number to be that generous. The Tallahassee article also stated there might be a rollback of the driver license fees. That could be a problem too. A big deal was made last August to renew now to avoid the increased fees. I see a lot of mad people wanting a refund on the issuances since September.

They will try anything to generate money for the state. I wonder how many people living in Florida will like this idea?
