Gas prices continue tumble
Thursday, August 21, 2008
CNN Money -- NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Gas prices continued their month-long slide Thursday, bringing the total decline in 35 straight days of decline to more than 41 cents a gallon, according to a daily survey of gas station credit card swipes.

Regular gasoline fell 1.5 cents to $3.702 a gallon from $3.717 a day earlier, according to the Daily Fuel Gauge Report from motorist group AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.

Gasoline prices have fallen 10% since hitting a high of $4.114 a gallon in mid-July, reflecting a 20% decline in oil prices, but remain more than 91 cents higher than they were a year ago.

I still think gas prices will continue trending downward for a while. Two steps forwards (down), one step back (up).

Just a space filler with no new content. Georgia invasion worries have already reduce the downward trend in oil. Look for rising prices is the very near term. Enjoy the cheap gas while you can. This is good time to lock in pro-conservation driving habits, so that the next round of price increases will have a lesser impact.

Whoever wrote that article must work for the oil companies! I don't call up $2.00 and down 25 cents a "tumble". What a farce!

Let's not get excited about tumbling prices unless they fall below $1.50 a gallon.

Gas is averaging $3.702 nationwide. Someone should tell the dumbass station owners in MI that prices are lowering not rising. Gas rose to $3.89/gallon on Friday.
